Be Encouraged

Power of Thinking

Shalom everyone! I just want to take a moment to write some encouragement. Times are getting tougher than they used to be. You hear a lot in the media and there is very little, {{if anything}}, that is encouraging. I feel like there are some of you who are reading this, that need a pick-me-up (myself included), so here are some verses from God’s Holy Word for your day…

Fear is something the enemy uses to belittle us and take away our authority and control of our life. There are so many things to be afraid of, but Scripture reminds us over and over- “Do not be afraid”. I did a study on the different kinds of fear mentioned in the Bible and I found 385 verses and 400 matches in the KJV that mention “fear”. If you would like to see the complete copy I made of the different kinds such as “do not fear”, “be not afraid”, “Fear of the LORD”, “Godly fear”, “fear of man” etc, send me an email to request it and I can email it to you. (I researched other versions, but KJV had the most). So if there are 385 verses that mention the word fear… then that is more than a verse a day for an entire year to remind us that God is in control and we do not need to be afraid of what will happen in our future.

Joshua fought the battle at Jericho and because he was courageous, the walls of the city came down and he won the battle because the LORD was on his side! When I was in youth group, we used to sing a song called “The Battle Belongs To The LORD” and that is definitely what Joshua experienced. We may think only prophets or people “called out” by God can be used in mighty ways. While this may be partially true… The other Truth is that YOU are being used in mighty ways too! YOU may not feel courageous, but the only way to make progress is to take one step at a time and let God guide your decisions. Surround yourself with people who will encourage you in the changes you want to make in your life. Distance yourself from people who withdraw from your life and leave your “bank account” empty. Work on getting yourself free from the negative baggage, then you can help others find freedom too. :) Let your faith be bigger than your fear!

“Matt 6:28-30  Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?” I have heard a quote that says “Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but you do not get anywhere.

Psalm 69.16

Php_4:6  In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

Mat_10:19  But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.

The enemy is sneaky and tries to come in through any open door. “Think about what you are thinking about” is a quote from a mentor and friend Bryn Kelly, as well as “What we think about, we give power to.” It is so true! What you think, your brain prepares your body to feel… Read more on this subject here and here.

No weapon means none, nada, zilch, zero !! 😀 Learn the power of speaking truth and the enemy will have to flee before you seven ways. (Deuteronomy 28:7) Contact me for more info on this subject!

No weapon

Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him: don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen. Psalm 37:7. There are a lot of verses on “rest” in Scripture. Learn to rest and relax so your body can recooperate!

I find myself turning my Bible whenever I am feeling down, depressed or overwhelmed with life (like this past week!!). When I get immersed in the cool waters of God’s Word, I find it cool and refreshing! Find those nuggets of truth to whisper to yourself and repeat them over and over. Get them into your heart and your mind. Soak yourself with this YouTube video. I fall asleep with this playing in the living room… it is a good “soaking”! :)

Matthew 22:37-39- “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” In what ways do you love yourself?

God is certainly still on the Throne, or this ole earth would have spun off its axis! He still brings us good news- because his mercies are new every morning! (Lamentations 3:22-23)

God loves us so much! He knew YOU before you were born. You are set apart {{for something really special!!}} Bask in His love and this special VIP announcement! :)

Jeremiah 1..5

Finally, we all know the power of our words. They can be a curse or a blessing. Speak the truth {{in love}} about YOURSELF and those around you. Look for the GLORY in others. Tell them what you like about them. Give a hug to those who need or want one.

Thank YOU for bearing with me this past week. I was having technical difficulties with the blog site, but hope this does reach you! :)

Blessings of SHALOM ~ peace that passes our comprehension!
